Prof. Didier Marlier (Belgium) is a new member of the IVPA!

By the decision of the Main Board of IVPA on 09/09/2022, an outstanding specialist from Belgium, Professor Didier Marlier joined our organization.

Professor obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and his Doctorate in Veterinary Sciences in 2000 for a study of amyxomatous strains of the myxomatosis virus and their role in the etiology of respiratory diseases in rabbits. In 2003, he passed his training certificate as a master of experience (category C). In 2009, he obtained the title of European Specialist in Zoological Medicine. In 2019, he obtained a university certificate in Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture. He is the head of the zoological medicine department and the avian clinic and supervises the resident in zoological medicine. On request, he provides consultations and autopsies in zoological medicine (small mammals and pet birds), pigeon medicine and small livestock. He has been teaching pigeon medicine at the Veterinary Faculty (University of Liège) since 1993. Since 2021, he has been setting up a pigeon loft for educational and research purposes (new project for the next years) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (collaboration with the RFCB-KBDB).
